The density of seawater is equal to 1.025 g/cm3, Find:
a) The pressure exerted only by the water column at a point 50 m deep;
b) The pressure at this point, taking into account atmospheric pressure, which at sea level is 1.013×105 Pa.

A glass cylinder contains, in the bottom mercury up to 10 cm in height and water to the height of 80 cm, measured from the base. The density of mercury and water are, respectively, 13.6 g/cm3 and 1 g/cm3. Determine the pressure at the bottom of the container.

A hydrogen balloon weighing 600 N is attached to a string in vertical static equilibrium. Its volume is equal to 80 m3, and the air density is equal to 1.25 kg/m3. Determine:
a) The buoyant force due to the air in the balloon;
b) The tension force on the string holding the balloon;
c) The acceleration acquired by the balloon when the string breaks.
Assume the air buoyant force is constant.
